About

Kimberly Guzman, raised in the city of Pacoima, with a creative family, is an extremely passionate advocate for the arts. Throughout her years in school, she devoted her time to improving her artistic abilities as an artist working with different types of media in as many classes or electives as she could.

Alongside growing up with art, Kimberly also has a mother who is an environmentalist and community organizer at Pacoima Beautiful. This devoted mother had her daughter following her around at all sorts of work events, functions, and workshops throughout Kimberly’s childhood. These experiences shaped her art to show themes of existing issues of pollution, social injustices in the community of Pacoima, and the negative impact of man-made objects on society. Those influences continue to shape her passion for the environment and community in her life.

She is currently on leave from Otis College of Art and Design to pursue her desire to help residents in the San Fernando Valley. She works at Mission City Community Network, overseeing outreach and enrollment.  Helping the community with Medi-Cal and Covered California enrollment at Mission City Community Clinic. In her pastime, she continues to paint and work on commission pieces.
